"Clarke's Bar, located at the top of Peter Street (up the hill from the Tholsel) is a genuine old Irish bar that has been pretty much untouched over the last century. They don't do food, but they do provide a comfortable and authentic Irish pub and serve a great pint of Guiness. A great place to relax (in a private "snug" if you like!) and read the daily newspapers provided free-of-charge or even play a game of Scrabble!"

"A fine late 19th century building and interior. The exterior is rendered with decorative window surrounds and a fine shop front. The interior with its low counters, snugs, and drawer units from a time when pubs sold some groceries. One for having a pint in"

I can say without a doubt that this little gem is a great find. the staff are just so nice, beer is great and it is run so well, judging by the crowd, not a hidden gem! we will be returning asap"

What I really love about working in Clarke's is that you just never know who you will get in for a visit. Alex Higgins, international pianist Michael Nyman, Golden Globe winning actor Brendan Gleeson have all had a pint in Clarke's
